About

Thank you for visiting my site.  So I’m Benjamin Dewhurst. I grew up in Shelbyville, IN, and am currently based in Broad Ripple, IN.  I went to Ball State University, got a BA in Awesome (they call it Multimedia).  I currently work in multimedia for DWA Healthcare Communications Group (recently voted an Indiana Top Workplace).

I’m an award-winning independent filmmaker and multimedia professional. I’ve Directed over 25 short films, helped crew countless others, served as the Executive Producer of the online sketch comedy show Something Else, and Directed a feature-length romantic comedy in HD.  Filmmaking is a passion and purpose of mine.

My most recent short film, “the best part of my day”, recently won the Clover and Maggie Award Celebrating Life in the Cleveland International Film Fest.  It was also shown at the Heartland Film Festival, and the Big Island Film Festival in Hawaii.  We’re still hoping to hear back for more acceptances!  Please check out that site for further details – http://www.bestpartofmyday.info.

I’m presently working on another experimental short film for 2010 under the Brilliant Frontier Productions banner yet again.  I have incredibly high hopes for it, one of the best scripts I’ve read in a while.  Details soon.

When not involved in filmmaking, I’m very into jogging on the Monon trail, enjoying a nice campfire/firepit, and getting into the local microbrews (Sun King and Three Floyds are a couple favorites.)  I’m an Exec. Producer for 12thHorseman.com, an Indianapolis Colts homer-blog, and I daily read up on my own favourite blogs (boingboing, Seth Godin, Wired to name a few).  I’m a geek I guess, but there’s always something to talk about.  Oh yeah, and I love dogs.

If you’d like to contact me, please feel free via the contact page.  Thanks again for visiting.
